my fabric addiction

Well hello world .....
what have i done lately not much .......
i have been buying lots of fabric...
and buying container to store my fabric....
i will have to make many things soon as i get some inspiration.......
I will have to visit the Stiches and Craft Show in melboune during may.....
i have sold a bunting flag which is made from this really cute bug fabric.....

Well the paper doll thought is now a bunting....

And before i ramble did you see the saints win last night what a game......injured players left and right and still they beat Collingwood....a really entertaining match and i dont usually watch it.....


ANy how i finished the paper doll thingy and they are not paper they are fabic and it looks pretty cute.......

I took to all the edges with my brand now pinking shears......



I just love pinking shears did not know what they were for until i did some web searching.......




Now i have to discover something new to inspire me..... i am off to play with my fabrics and see what i find.....

Was thinking about Paper Doll Chains and mookey

Mookey is a bit sad his girls have gone home......






I got to thinking about paper doll chains ......and how cute they used to look and i though i know cloth birthday bunting that looks a bit like the old chains.... well you never know i think i will give it a go......






First a template needs to be created for the doll.....then i think a heart to put the letters on



Cutting out all the shapes is so time consuming but fun........








now to choose some felt colors for hearts.......









wow that was so much cutting....... but now for the fun part how to put it all together.....



i will have to call this a work in progress.......



i am off to help my son in law move bricks.....

So excited i finished the Birthday Bunting......

Well now the puppies are gone i can put up the finished Birthday Fabric Bunting / Banner.







I decided on zig-zag stitch all the way around each letter..... although i think i may buy a pair of pinking shears would be easier... and maybe a neater edge......










OK that's all done now for the binding......
Purple i think......










All that is left is to test them out...............

They look pretty cool hanging outside....










and inside would be just a lovely...

I have no clue.......

hi there i was looking around in my sewing machine stuff and came across this attachment........ well i have no idea what this is used for...... i sure it must do something amazing........

On a sad note the puppies are going home today....... from top Gypsy, Roxy (on right) and Mookey (bottom)..... Mookey is always so sad when they leave.....




















I guess now i can get back to my sewing and rummaging through my fabrics.....

B is for Birthday

is for bunting and for birthday.... i thought wow why not make a birthday bunting ...... an actual spell birthday bunting..... well the fabric is cut and yes it spells happy birthday.....








i have started sewing.......











the result should be really fun.....














I have a problem how do i finish off the edge of each letter......

not as easy as i first thought may be some one has an idea would love to hear it ............

Aprons and other ramblings

Well my holidays are drawing to a close.........so will have to get busy finishing off some projects i started at the beginning....although that may be a little fun this week end.... we have three puppies running excitedly around the house....see we are puppy sitting for my daughter til monday....

i have been working on some aprons for children....they look so deliciously nice.....my daughter nabbed one for her 2 year old and it looks really really cute....



the fabric is just so bright and cheerfull

I typically buy fabric just because i like the look of it, so when I’m in the mood to sew i have many fabric rumble threw, I usually dont know what it’s going to be.

Well hello..............
I looked in my stash of fabrics and could not see anything i could wear...... but to my surprise i could see flags fabric flags...............
so i had to create some bunting flags.....
and here are some results maybe you will love them as much as i have loved creating them......




They look wonderful for outside party or inside room decor......
